2. Even as phone companies start promoting the ability to upgrade your phone every six months, there are still ideas out there to avoid having to frequently replace your phone. This article has shown up multiple times on my facebook feed: a design for a modular phone so users can replace or upgrade parts as needed or wanted, instead of completing replacing a phone just to fix one outdated component.
