Countdown: Marathon Training Week 16

Workouts

Monday: Rest day

Tuesday: 6.35 mile run (12:18 pace)
Goal: 6 miles moderate (12:00 - 12:30)
Actual: 12:19, 12:18, 12:09, 12:51, 12:26, 11:49, 4:14 time for 0.35 (12:07 pace)

Wednesday: Yoga class (60 minutes)

Thursday: 3 mile treadmill run (12:42 pace, random incline)

Friday: Rest day

Saturday: 13.1 mile run (13:19 pace)
Goal: 12 - 14 miles long/slow (13:00 - 13:30)
Actual: 
1 - 4: 12:46, 12:30, 13:24, 13:04
5 - 8: 12:26, 14:14, 12:57, 13:18
9 - 12: 13:22, 13:47, 13:00, 14:37
13 - 13.1: 13:46, 1:14 time for 0.1 (12:01 pace)

Sunday: 4.1 mile run (13:00 pace)
Goal: 3 - 4 miles easy (13:00)
Actual: 13:05, 13:36, 12:55, 12:29, 1:13 time for 0.1 (12:11 pace)

Total miles: 26.55



Yay for tapering! Although I'm not completely ruling out ever doing another marathon, I definitely don't want to do so until I'm a lot faster so that the training isn't so time-consuming. My long run, despite being part of the taper, still took three hours. That's a big chunk out of my weekend! I'm still a bit nervous about being able to finish the marathon, much less within what I consider a reasonable time, but I guess we'll just have to see. Less than two weeks to go.
