The Getaway: Marathon Training Week 8

Workouts:

Monday: 4 mile run (13:25 pace) in Ann Morrison Park in Boise + walked a round of disc golf (about 80 minutes)

Tuesday: Played half a round of disc golf + walked the other half (about 2 hours total - some serious hiking up hills on this course)

Wednesday: Walked a round of disc golf (about 2 hours) + 3.75 mile treadmill run (11:40 average pace)

Treadmill speed workout:
Warm-up: 1 minute each at 4.0, 4.5
Pyramid: 2 minutes each at:
5.0, 5.2, 5.4, 5.6, 5.8, 6.0, 5.8, 5.6, 5.4, 5.2, 5.0
1 minute at 4.5
Small pyramid: 2 minutes each at:
5.0, 5.2, 5.4, 5.2, 5.0
5 minutes at 4.8
1 minute at 4.5
45 seconds at 4.0

Thursday: Walked two rounds of disc golf (about 2 hours each)

Friday: Walked up 400+ stairs on Telegraph Hill to Coit Tower + 75 minute yoga class at Laughing Lotus + 6 mile run in Golden Gate Park (13:01 pace)


Saturday: Played 3 holes of disc golf (about 30 minutes) + walked a round of disc golf (about 90 minutes)

Sunday: Walked half a round of disc golf (60 minutes) + 80 minutes hike in the Redwoods

Total miles ran: 15


Total hours walked/hiked: 15.2 

Ok, that was definitely a fail as far as marathon training was concerned... I should have had a long run around 15 miles, not my total mileage! But sooooo much walking, which at least was contributing towards maintaining general fitness and practicing time on my feet, if not specifically running.
